Great Collection ofold 78 RPMrecords in DECCA Records Album! There were literally hundreds of record companies, producing flat disc and cylinders, during the phonograph industry boom. Some of the more successful labels of the time were Victor and Columbia. With the race to sign new artists their label, many small companies were developed. Most smaller companies eventually went out of business or were bought up by larger record companies. Victor was one of the first to see the importance in assigning contracts with musical artists, making them exclusive to the record label.Authentic Victrola Talking Machine shown in picture is not included: FOR SALE AS SEPARATE LISTING ON eCRATERListed are each ALBUM label; artists;song titles -record conditionRecord 1: Columbia; Rosemary Clooney; Rose of the Mountain/Come on-a my house - great conditionRecord 2: RCA Victor, Sons of the Pioneers; Stars and Stripes On - great conditionRecord 3: RCA Victor, Lonzo and Oscar ; I'm my Own Grandpa/You Blacked my Blue Eyes Once too Often - great condition with minor wearRecord 4: Columbia; Les Compagnous De La Chanson; Whirlwind/The Three Bells - great conditionRecord 5: Coral; Eddie Lawrence; The Old Philosopher/King Arthur's Mines - great conditionRecord 6: Columbia; The Four Lads; Dream on My Love Dream on/Moments to Remember - great conditionRecord 7: Dot; Gale Storm; Never Leave Me/I Hear You Knocking - Broken (see pic 6)Record 8: ERA Records; Gogi Grant; The Wayward Wind/No More Than Forever - Cracked (see pic 6)Record 9: RCA Victor, The Ames Brothers; So Will I/My Bonnie Lassie - Edge Chip and Crack (see pic 7)History of labels included in this album: Columbia, RCA Victor, Coral, Dot, and ERAColumbia Records is an American flagship recording label, under the ownership of Sony Music Entertainment, operating under the Columbia Music Group. It was founded in 1888, evolving from an earlier enterprise, the American Graphophone Company—successor to the Volta Graphophone Company. Columbia is the oldest brand name in recorded sound,] being the first record company to produce recorded records as opposed to blank cylinders. Columbia Records went on to release records by an array of notable singers, instrumentalists, and bands. From 1961 to 1990, its recordings were released outside the U.S. and Canada on the CBS Records label (for Columbia Broadcasting System, its parent from 1938 to 1988) before adopting the Columbia name in most of the world.RCA Victrola was a budget label introduced by RCA Victor in the early 1960s to reissue classical recordings originally issued on the RCA Victor "Red Seal" label. The name "Victrola" came from the early console phonographs marketed by the Victor Talking Machine Company. Many of RCA Victrola's discs included the historic "Living Stereo" series first released in 1958, using triple channel stereophonic tapes from as early as 1954. There were also some first stereo releases of recordings that previously been available only in monaural versions. For several years, Victrola released both stereophonic and monaural versions of many albums.Coral Records was a Decca Records subsidiary formed in 1949. It recorded pop artists McGuire Sisters and Teresa Brewer, as well as rock and roller Buddy Holly. It was based in the United States. Various jazz and swing band recordings were issued on Coral in the 1940s. Coral's artists & repertoire manager Bob Thiele married Coral artist Teresa Brewer. In the late 1950s, Debbie Reynolds briefly recorded for Coral, with such songs as "Tammy". Coral Records was also the home of Buddy Holly and the Crickets. In the UK it began in 1954 as Vogue Coral. Coral stopped issuing new material in 1971. In 1973, MCA amalgamated Decca, Kapp Records and Uni Records under the single MCA Records banner, and Coral was repositioned as a mid-line and budget album reissue label in the U.S. and internationally. This version of Coral (whose labels identified the imprint as "MCA Coral") lasted into the 1980s. Some product from MCA's former Vocalion Records budget label was manufactured with MCA Coral labels that bore Vocalion catalog numbers and was shipped in sleeves still bearing the Vocalion trademark, presumably to cut costs.Dot Records is a historic American record label, originally an independent label founded by Randy Wood in Gallatin, Tennessee, and active between 1950 and 1977.Era Records was an independent American record label located in Hollywood, California. It was founded by Herb Newman and Lou Bedell in 1955 as a pop, country and western and jazz label. Era had a #1 hit in 1956 with Gogi Grant's "The Wayward Wind", written by Newman. In 1959 Bedell sold his interest in the label to Newman. Artists who experienced hits on Era include Ketty Lester ("Love Letters"), Larry Verne ("Mr. Custer"), Donnie Brooks ("Mission Bell"), Dorsey Burnette ("Tall Oak Tree"), Art & Dotty Todd ("Chanson D' Amour") and The Castells ("So This Is Love"). Era distributed other labels including Monogram, Gregmark and Eden. From 1969 to 1971, Era was associated with Happy Tiger, which reissued and distributed some of Era's oldies. In 1972, Newman added the RTV label, which released the MU album. In the mid-1970s Newman sold the Era label and catalog to K-tel. In 1993, K-tel began reissuing some of the early Era material using the original Era label and logo.
